Mohanlal started his own band named "lalisom" The band was roped in by Kerala Govt for a substantial amount (2 cr by reports) for its maiden program - the inaugural ceremony of the recent National games. This attracted criticism from quarters (with vested interests included) that the amount paid was too huge for a band that's just started out - even to the extent of nepotism. The show had largely negative reviews. Lip syncing was one of the biggest criticisms. Of course, the cries of nepotism even grew higher. Mohanlal in the end decided enough was enough - conducted a PC - and returned the full fee contracted to the govt. The govt denied it, but accepted it when they realized Mohanlal was unrelenting.
bulbul Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 My Mallu friend mentioned this last week...good on Mohan lal to return the money. Don't know why he took the opportunity in first place. unnecessarily denied opportunity to some deserved candidates.
