Why couldnt we get Smith out ?

Right through the test series and now in this game, he scored runs against us without breaking a sweat. It wouldnt be too much of a stretch to say, we could have won the test series and even this SF if we had got him out cheaply because the rest of the batsmen were never as good but that was not to be. He doesnt seem like a technically correct batsman either. Is there anything Indian bowlers could have done differently ? Also does it show lack of homework, planning by India that they couldnt figure out a way to get him out ?

But good enough to take 70 wickets in 7 games and get most other Aussie batsmen out cheaply? Its not as if he is Bradman who doesnt have any weakness.

He is in that good form thats half the reason. Also a very unusual bat to get out.

I know he changed his stance to leg side a bit as mentioned in cricinfo and he was instructed specifically to play tests only in domestic cricket. But I think our guys did not plan well against Smith.Even Kohli made 4 test centuries, but Aussies had a clear plan to get Kohli out in ODIs.
