Sir john Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Zimbabwe set to tour Pakistan for ODIs, T20Is International cricket is set to return to Pakistan after a gap of six years after Zimbabwe agreed to tour the country next month for a limited over series. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan confirmed the same to reporters in Lahore but the venues and the schedule of the series is yet to be confirmed. "Zimbabwe is going to tour Pakistan for a week from mid-May," PCB chairman, Shaharyar Khan told the media in Lahore. A PTI report stated that the PCB was planning to host Zimbabwe's games at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore while other venues are also being considered. The venues have not been finalised as yet due to security issues. Khan has said that they were discussing the possibilities of having some matches at a venue in Karachi. The PCB is looking at venues that have accommodation and other facilities close to the ground and that which makes for minimum travel for both teams. No international team has toured Pakistan since 2009 when the Sri Lankan team bus was subjected to gunfire by terrorists. Khan also said that a security delegation from Zimbabwe will visit Pakistan to review arrangements before announcing the itinerary. He also said that PCB has got the approval of the International Cricket Council (ICC) to appoint Pakistani referees and umpires for the series and that the matches would be granted international status.
