Police didn’t deny designs to disturb communal atmosphere in the city. - The temple located on Carvan lane of Syedpara in Lohamandi police station limits was vandalized. Priest of the 50-year-old temple, found silver tiara and other valuable ornaments missing. 2-3 miscreants also damaged the statues, including the Shiv Ling in the process. - When the Hindu outfit got the news of this incident, angry supporters began assembling in large numbers in Lohamandi, which is a mixed-population area, with both Hindu and Muslim households. Sensing that the situation could turn violent any moment, police force from all neighboring areas was immediately called in and the temple was surrounded. The damaged statues were taken into custody and replicas of the statues have been ordered to be placed in the temple. - The temple priest Karan Singh said that next Wednesday, the locals had planned a big celebration (Phool Bangla) at the temple, but in light of this sad incident, the function has been postponed. He said that 18 years back the temple had been damaged in a similar sneak attack, but those were volatile times and the culprits were never caught. This time, it was his hope that the police will nab the criminals soon. - In March 2013, two Shiva temples were attacked on Shiv Ratri and the statues were damaged. Some time back, a temple in Bodla area of the town was attacked, where a Shiva idol was damaged. The administration replaced the statue and the people agreed not to launch wide-scale protests that had been planned against the incident. Again, in Sita Nagar, a Shiva temple was attacked, where the statues were broken and thrown into the Yamuna. A few days earlier, a temple in Sector-9 of Avas Vikas colony was attacked. These incidents show that Hindu temples need more protection in Agra. Who is running UP, Yadavs or Azam Khan? Absolute chaos there, lawless state. Also proves that churches aren't the only places of worship being vandalized in India.

The complainant in the case, who lives near the temple, claimed to have seen a group of minor boys running out of the temple campus before the act of vandalism was discovered. Tension prevailed in the area as people assembled at the temple at Syed Bada locality, which has a mixed population of Muslims and Hindus. Heavy police deployment was made in the area. Lohamandi police station SHO Indrajeet Singh said that the complainant claimed that he saw three children aged between 8 and 10 running out of the temple. Bold part of the information, which was "withheld" by OP seems to suggest it was a group of children which might have done this act of "vandalism" A group of children, playing in temple and breaking an idol become act of Vandalism and UP goes in absolute chaos :giggle: Irresponsible by MSM to sensationalize this but they have even stopped trying to project themselves as neutral.

It was done by a certain Haider Ali who admitted that he vandalized the church because his love for a Christian girl went unrequited.
