No. Is the Sth. African team called The Springboks ? No. Is Bangladesh known as The Royal Bengal Tigers ? I don't think so. Is the Pakistan team known as The Markhors ? No. So why call NZ The Kiwis ? Especially as it's well know their name is The Black Caps. For your information, the national Aussie Rugby League team is known as The Kangaroos.
