People dont understand how much pressure this kind of informal diplomacy puts on Pakistan.Tommorow if Pakistan does something Indian diplomacy will be in a far stronger place to mould world opinion againist them.

Btw has Modi ceded anything to Pakistan?We didnt even allow a cricket series FFS.

What did Congis like Mani Shankar Aiyar and Salman Khurshid said in Pakistan recently?

  • Sept 2014 : "terror and talks cannot go together" ;  
  • April 2015 modi Govt : "terror and talks cannot go together"  ; 
  • Oct 2015 modi govt : "terror and talks cannot go together"

Now that we are talking -  Terror and Talks CAN go together or  perhaps modi govt has accepted pakistan no longer sponsors terrorism against India , perhaps modi govt has issued a clean-chit :--D to pakistan ?

Reminds me of when american conservatives used to claim in the middle of the last decade during Dubya's term - they will not negotiate with terrorists .Then it was revealed that the Bush administration and CIA were not only negotiating with Terrorists and taliban warlords  , but also bribing them with millions of dollars and viagra pills . i am sure they started praising the astute "diplomacy" of the Bush administration after the revelations.

 

So , What else has modi Govt ceded to Pakistan ?

In late August when NSA level talks were called off Sushma Swaraj set a midnight deadline ( Has everybody forgotten ?) for Pakistan to give a categorical assurance on TWO issues -

  • that talks would be confined only to terror. ( capitulation in Dec - The NSA and EAM joint statements together mention dialogue on J&K , Siachen , Sir Creek..etc )
  • No engagement with hurriyat . (Kashmiri Separatists/ Hurriyat representatives have been allowed to meet with Pak high commissioner last week )

 

Politicians tend to rely on public memory being extremely short-lived . that is why they can tell you one thing and do something entirely opposite afterwards.

Namo has to have a death wish. Has to. WTF was he thinking going to the most dangerous place on the planet, particularly for him since he is probably #1 on hitlist of every jihadi there? Surrounded by armed ROpers everywhere? I mean WTF. I don't see him lasting the full term if he keeps taking risks like this. And this isn't new with him. All those selfies and hand holding with mango people on foreign tours, he is a sitting duck.   

And WTF can you talk about in 1.5 hours that can't be conveyed over the phone if it has to? I tell you, either there is sh!t going in the background and this restart of talks drama is just a diversion (only hope) or Lutyens has managed to get to the one guy that, at outset, seemed to have unshakable resolve to their corrupt and gungadeen ways.

If this omnipotent,  freemasonesque lutyens cabal managed to get to him , he never had any resolve in the first place.


Perhaps his supporters , desperately yearning for an overbearing authority figure ,  were projecting their feeble Fantasies onto an Empty Shell of a man.

I just cited 3 different ways in which modi has ceded, yielded , surrendered his original position on Pakistan -

  • Talks and terror cannot got together = CEDED
  • talks would be confined only to terror  = CEDED
  • No engagement with hurriyat = CEDED

Any agreement ? Have you not read the joint statements issued by the NSA's (doval & Janjua ) and the EAM's (Swaraj & Aziz) in the last 3 weeks ? refer to this thread LINK .  What other agreements are you looking for ?

 

What other parts of your post are left unanswered ? the part about khurshid and aiyar seems to be a rhetorical question .

perhaps the PM should meet a person of the Sikh faith ; maybe Dr.MMS , and ask him about "Wadda Ghalughara"!

A "Wadda Ghalughara" memorial is being built at Sangrur district.
