Even if Ireland were to finish #1 in the t20 rankings they'd have to qualify (twice) just to play a top side as the qualifying criteria states only the top 8 full members make it. Whereas even if Zimbabwe were ranked #15 they'd avoid this competition. :((

YCCC Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Sounds quite convincing, although Ireland were without a number of their county players like Murtagh, Porterfield, Stirling, Joyce and Niall O'Brien. Not sure whether they're available for the tournament. I would imagine so. Having said that Scotland were also without McLeod and Machan, but did have Coetzer and Davey
Donal Cozzie Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 ^^^^ Yeah, disappointed with the results but the reality is thats a 20 percent strength Irish side vs a 90 percent strength Scottish side. Plus Kane's had a great start to int. cricket which is good to see. Scotland have improved massively in the last 2 years though, not even a comparison of the side of 2013
