RohitSharma264 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Hello ICFs. Anyone knows a way of sending mobile phone from Melbourne (Australia) to India via Courier/Post? My younger brother wants to send a Samsung Galaxy S6 mobile phone to me in India, but haven't got a clue about sending it from Melbourne to India. Questions - 1. S6 has non-removable battery. Do courier guys accept batteries in parcel? 2. Will it attract customs? 3. Will it reach Tier III Indian city, a district nonetheless. 4. Australia Post, DHL, TNT, Fedex etc are reliable? Worried about theft in India. Cheers, much appreciated.
biglebowski Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I once received from canada through BlueDart , but its expensive.
coffee_rules Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 He should ship it using a professional courier service like DHL/UPS. He will have to declare it, hence will have to go through customs. There are allowances, I doubt 1 cellphone will make you pay custom duty. While sending, he should request to deliver the package only with a signature and not leave it outside your home.
