Predator_05
Simon Krapich is really ripping it up this season. Any chance of a recall ? He thwarted the Indian bowlers many times - saving the Sydney Test in '04, crucial partnership with Clarke at Bangalore, knocked the stuffing out of 'em in Australia's test win @ Nagpur. Dull batsman but still competent enough Who is BJ five-stars ? Link to comment

The Outsider
Noffke seems to be having a dream season. There are not too many spots in tests but with the amount of ODI cricket being played he can be played as an allrounder ahead of Watson at times. Link to comment

Noffke's big toe could be played ahead of F*cking Useless as an allrounder. Link to comment
Donny
Symonds and Hopes are the incumbent ODI all rounders although Noffke could be rotated in as a frontline bowler and would be a very handy #8 batsman. Link to comment
Ram
I see Langer there, which is amazing considering he stopped top-flight cricket nearly 10 months ago. A thing which struck me also was that Langer has kept on playing FC cricket even AFTER he stopped playing international cricket, which he means he thinks he is still good enough to play competitive cricket and he has proved that by scoring runs. Contrast this with some of our own superstars, who prolong their career to the point when their skills have totally waned and they are no longer good enough any sort of cricket. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Check out how long Bevan, Lehmann, Bichel and co. all played for... Link to comment
Ram
I dont understand, why havent players like Lehmann, Langer jumped on ICL/IPL ? Their international careers are already over and if McGrath, Warne can come back from hibernation to play 20/20, why cant these guys who are in still active cricket do it ? And bear in mind that some absolute like Loots Bosman can command nearly $1,25,000, I assume class guys like Langer, Lehmann would have stood a decent chance. Link to comment
Donny
Not all players are greedy, mm. For people like Langer, Moody, Lehmann etc. they have been on and off planes more time that some people have had hot meals. They all have families. Steve Waugh, for instance, is said to have made his mind up to retire because of the look on his daughter's face when he left to go on his last tour. These kids don't grow up thinking Dad's particularly special. That's all they've known. But what they DO notice is how often Dad 'goes away' Link to comment
Ram
Donny, are you suggesting then that McGrath, Gilchrist, Ponting and Warne are all greedy and dont care for their families ? That is damning thing to say, I have to say. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Where did he ever suggest that? Link to comment
Ram
Where did he ever suggest that? I said - " Why havent Lehmann, Langer not signed up ? " Donny says - " The are not greedy, they have been on planes more than people have had hot meals, Steve looked at his daughter's eyes and retired........." I wonder - " So, do all the players who sign up for these leagues, including Australians, both present and retired, greedy ? " Kindly educate me if you find any flaws in my logic/thought flow. Donny
Oh dear. Must you get so hung up on a word, mm ? Perhaps 'greedy' was too provocative for some in ICF, like yourself. I simply meant those 3 I mentioned have made a good living out of cricket and don't really 'need' the extra $s to go on another overseas tour. Link to comment
Ram
Hung up ? I was simply was toeing your line of thought, Donny. Perhaps 'greedy' was too provocative for some in ICF, like yourself. I simply meant those 3 I mentioned have made a good living out of cricket and don't really 'need' the extra to go on another overseas tour. So, I suppose guys like Warne, McGrath, Punter and Gilly DO need the extra $s to go another overseas tour. Maybe they lost a lot of money gambling, who knows... Link to comment
