When we compare top players of the game, I am not sure how this would matter.

 

Ricky Ponting - SR 59, SRT  SR - 55, Sanga - SR 54, Lara - SR 60, Dravid - SR 43, Kalliis 46.

 

Smith - 59, Kohli - 56, Kane - 50, Root - 55.

 

Players like Dravid and Kallis are missing otherwise most of the better batsmen of 2000s batted at similar pace than current crop of batsmen
