G_B_ Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Seems Aussie spinner o'keefe has said in an interview that its hard for batters to pick the spinners with the pink ball cause they can't see the seam clearly which shows the direction of revolutions on the ball... Nova Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Well the batsman not being able to recognize the seam, may help the spinners but in the subcontinent, dew is also a factor. So it may be not be easy for the spinners to grip the ball. Dew also affects reverse swing for seamers. There was a four day match at Eden Gardens under lights last month. The pink ball helped the seamers as the ball skidded because of some grass on the pitch but there was hardly any assistance for spinners. Conditions vary, so we will have to see.
