The Outsider Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Prepping up for the Sydney finale from Tendulkar and Laxman!
Chalks Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 But first, Prof, I'd like to see him get his 100th 100 in Boxing Day Test. We Melburnians have only seen one SRT century (1999), and one delightful cameo 60-odd on the last tour.
Jersey #10 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 ^It's a certain date for that magical century at Melbourne. Book your tix
The Outsider Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 But first' date=' Prof, I'd like to see him get his 100th 100 in Boxing Day Test. We Melburnians have only seen one SRT century (1999), and one delightful cameo 60-odd on the last tour.[/quote'] Well, speaking for myself, I don't give a damn about his 100th 100 - Tendulkar was an all time great even before he played a single day of test cricket in the 21st century when quite a few batsmen with inferior skills ran crazy with batting averages. And as I said earlier in other threads, this 100th 100 means jack***** to me, as far as appreciating the batting of Tendulkar is concerned - it's merely a number which he will cross some day. It's the near perfection he brings to batting, the manner in which he is able to befuddle the bowler by stepping out the extra inch to insure the ball hits him outside off stump, the manner in which he is able to defy the tradition that you have to be able to hook the ball consistently well to be able to play short pitch bowling by using the cut over slips, the manner in which he reminds someone as old as me to remember both Gavaskar and Richards in the on drives he executes - those are the things which distinguish him. If someone can execute those kind of things with the kind of bloody mindedness that he has, genius is but an apt understatement.
The Outsider Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 ^how old r u? Prepare for your exams - you don't want Cricaddict uncle to give you an F after "doing" so many tough courses.
King Tendulkar Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Well, speaking for myself, I don't give a damn about his 100th 100 - And as I said earlier in other threads, this 100th 100 means jack***** to me, as far as appreciating the batting of Tendulkar is concerned - You miserable git. Bah Humbug:haha:
