Would you like to see the top two test teams playing each other at neutral venue?

This Idea was also put forward by one of the members in ICC. 

The top two test teams play a 3 match test series at the end of the year at a neutral venue to decide who deserves the test #1 title..

Looks a good idea to me if they can reserve that 20 day period at the end of the year and all optional venues....

For example : IND and AUS this year playing in ENG. Wow!

Your thoughts please....

There is also the problem of the ground staff preferring one team over the other. If ICC can come up with an independent team with people of mixed nationality then things can be controlled.

No.Is just Pointless .

Imagine a test series in England in November - December ,won't get a single day's play .

And which other country can be termed neutral ?

SA or NZL wont be neutral for Aussies or Asia (or WI) for India.

There is no sense or meaning in these proposals.

I would rather have more warn up matches for the Australia tour or SA tour with that time than playing these pointless games .

Plenty of options..

If both are team are ENG-AuS-Sa-NZ   then any subcontinent pitch.

ICC can start calculating September to September so of InD-Pak qualify then ENG 

It's not pointless. It will give us a clearer #1 test team. The current tests have become more like "Apne Ghar me kutta bhi sher" with very little matches going in the favour of the touring team.

Will be nice to see the both teams play for something substantial (#1 tag) without the conditions favouring each side.

So playing the no1/no2 team at that moment in a fair competition is not worth as much as 3-day tour game against a president's 11 team...Right.

I am only giving my perspective.I am not/can't claim for other's perspective.

It gives no practice playing SA or Australia in English or Srilanka conditions as preparations for a tour down under.

The claim of number 1 for this series is dubious in itself .

Most teams are separated by few points in the rankings table that one series win completely changes the rankings .

For example if we had such series now we would have Pakistan who were no.2 then.

Yet once their series is over they will drop down to no.4 .Rankings aren't reflective of actual quality or performance of the teams.It depends on which team has how many overseas (I.e. hard tours ) during that year.So pretty meaningless in the first place.

Also how would playing Australia in SA will be neutral venue for us .Or playing Ind/Pak in sub continent for Australia or SA.So basically every series has to be played in England if England doesn't qualify .Pretty much meaningless after a year.

Whereas winning a series in England /SA/Australia is something very tangible.
