A canadian gentleman driving through the lenght and breadth of usa after 9/11.. jesus those southies showed more hatred for blacks than Osama.. There is nothing like this. I have lived exclusively in Bible Belt - Arkanas, Texas & Arizona. It doesnt get anymore South than this. The people here are generally laid-back and yes there are racial overtones but thats more in Mississipi, Missauri and Carolinas which has a good black population. Obama does have good support amongst Whites but some whites would have their racial issues as well.

Mind you Iraq has world's purest Oil resrves along with Kuwait...so you guyz can sit and enjoy because no Arab country can bring your economy down by threatening to cut oil supply...America has already secured huge oil which will ensure their strategic oil reserve is maintained for years. Since the Iraq war started, US oil prices have soared. US has spent 1 trillion dollars on the Iraq war. You think they will even get 1 dollar of that back in oil incentives? Iraqis want to kick americans out ASAP. All oil exports and prices from the ME is controlled by OPEC. US will not benefit from even a single gallon of gasoline because of the war - atleast I am yet to see any evidence of it.

And you will be surprised to know that ever since Iraq war oil prices has gone up and up and up. Its been like 5 years now and it has not come down, so how exactly has it helped American consumer?? The ONLY group it has helped are the rich oil executives, buddies of Bush, who are getting billions in bonuses. As of now oil is atleast a dollar more than what it was prior to Iraq war(about 30-40% increase) with cascading effect on goods that are moved by transport(food and pretty much everything). If the economy starts tanking a good part can be traced to Iraq war.

I would think that he would pick Nevada which is too left leaning and South Carolina beecause of black votes ' date= but my hunch is , he is gonna lose Michigan because registered democrat voters don't perceive him to be strong on economy and Michigan has had problems with their industries shutting down and what not . And from their on it will be a free fall come super Tuesday .. KR, Obama is not even in the ballot for MI primary. Both Edwards and Obama are skipping the primary. So no question of him losing the primary.

Just imagine Guliani concentrating only on Florida .. Imagine if Mccain wins Michigan , then surely the momentum is gonna be shifted on his side and catapult him to victory in Florida . Michigan is a blue collar state , Obama should have at least tried .. With Hilary mostly likely to win Michigan , I think it momentum will be shifted on her side also..

Living normally sometime might blind people because we tend to surround ourselves with like-minded people..

Obama and Edwards are skipping MI because of the early primary date in that state which gives them lack of campaign time. Giuliani will have no appeal whatsoever to conservative Republicans where as he is trying to close that gap by concentrating more in larger states like Florida, CA and NY which has a much diverse base. McCain winning MI is doubtful because it is Romney's home state and he might win there. But after NH win McCain is surging in popularity. Mike Huckabee is also gaining in strength so Guiliani's chances of a late rise is doubtful. But I think it is interesting overall. You cannot write-off Obama. As per eyewitness, Kennedy is the last candidate who received this much attention. And people are blown away by his speech. So I think it's a close race.

In her speech she is surrounded by Bill Clinton, Madeline Albright, Terri McAuliff & Wesley Clarke. People who watch her know very well of her coterie, kind of like people shall watch George Bush and remember Karl Rove. And for a lot of people, even ardent Democrats, that sight is not too enthusing. Obama has this unknown factor going for him. People like what they see and he doesnt haul too much baggage around. In essence his drawback(lack of prior experience) is also his biggest plus point. xxx

There is a talk about Mayor Bloomberg entering the race. He is sitting on a cash pile so never know whether he will take charge by end of Feb.
