The channel, quoting a source close to the coach, said captain Rahul Dravid was under pressure from the "mafia". Chappell was also angry with the seniors who undermined the captain from taking tough decisions, the channel claimed but did not elaborate. The sources were quoted as saying that the seniors "hammered" juniors and did not like them to be given opportunities for fear that their career would be in jeopardy. They said that Chappell was not averse to staying on as the coach provided the same set of players were not retained. Meanwhile, the ex-Australian batsman on Monday said that "some people" in the cricket establishment wanted to tarnish his image and ruled out his resignation ahead of the crucial BCCI meeting that will decide on his future with the Indian team. He, however, did not name any one or elaborate. Chappell said he would submit his report to the BCCI on April 6. (PTI)

He was saying that if these things or allegations were true, why on earth isn't Chappall coming out in the open and saying so? What is he trying to achieve by leaking the report before it has reached BCCI? Why is he covering his own tracks? Everyone knows that Sachin is best suited to open the innings in the ODIs and Sachin thinks so too. Still he batted at #4 because Chappall wanted him to. Still he is saying that players didn't follow his strategies?? Why?
