Fast-paced bowler S Sreesanth has created a World Cup record of sorts, without playing a single ball in the West Indies. After India's shameful exit from the Cup and the consequent pariah treatment meted out to cricketers by ad men, Sreesanth is the only man to bag a fresh contract. Air India Express, a recently-launched budget airline, has roped in the cricketer ? for one ironic reason. He did not play at the World Cup (though he was part of the team) and therefore is not tainted by defeat. "Sreesanth, although a part of the squad, did not play a single match and so he was the only one (deemed to be) fit to be roped in," said a senior airline official. He added that the decision was taken after much deliberation at a series of meetings by the airline management. "We were in a fix after India's dismal performance," he added. Sreesanth, who has been roped in for an undisclosed amount, will be the airline's brand ambassador. :wall:
