Dhondy
After asking Inzy to jump before he was shoved from the ODI team, Pakistan have heaped further indignity on their greatest ever batsman by not offering him a central contract. This after his unbeaten 92 at Port Elizabeth in the most horrendous batting conditions, that ultimately shaped the match result. What are these guys made of? They are making millions of dollars from cricket, the fellow has been a standout batsman for a generation, had an incredible run in 2005, and only a relative slump in 2006 by his high standards, and they can't spare a 100K for him? It's sad and shortsighted, to say the least. Link to comment

Ram
Its not just Inzamam Dhondy. Every worthwhile pakistani player has been insulted. From Wasim Akram to Waqar Younis to Saqlain to even Shoaib. I have seen Wasim Akram literally break down in tears when asked about the people's reaction after he pulled out of the 96 world cup final. And we all still remember the famous Waqar Younis Saleem Altaf interview ( PCB guy) in which Waqar openly confides to being "insulted by the PCB chairman and told that he was free to resign if he wanted so". Recently you had Saqlain complaining that nobody in Pak cricket came to his help when he so badly wanted it. Even Shoaib looked almost pale to the point looking ghost-like when he lamented on T.V that he feels let down by Pak cricket. Now, its Inzamam's turn If a nation has a habit of mocking its best performers , then how are the cricketers supposed to be inspired to do well for the country ? Pakistan is by far , the worst nation when it comes to treating its legends. Link to comment
Bumper
PCB has a history of doing this to all their players. Am not surprised Inzi is being kicked around this way. Link to comment

Dhondy
Apparently, they rate Misbah Ul Haq ahead of him. Even he was offered a Grade C. Madness. Link to comment
Bumper
Inzi deserves a fitting farewell for sure. However, dropping Inzi may have more to do with the players incharge currently. I dont think Malik or Younis Khan want Inzi in the squad. Link to comment

MundaPakistani
DNA speaks "It is not true that the board don't want Inzamam to play," Ashraf said. "Even if he isn't on the list he can still be selected to play. But I want to stress that selection will be 100% based on physical fitness." “The selectors wanted to give central contracts only to those playing both forms of the game,” Link to comment
Gambit
Forward thinking. Don't most people on this board crave that our selectors adopt the mentality and ruthlessness of Australian selectors? Isn't that what the PCB is doing? After a horrendous 2006 and a dismal world cup, he is out. Link to comment
kumble_rocks
Good to see PCB reign in on the beard brigade ! After the contemptuous and dictatorial way Inzi treated others including late Woolmer , he reaped what he sowed, period. Link to comment

The Outsider
Inzamam should have been stripped of captaincy a long time back but as a batsman he still commands a permanent spot in the test middle order. Not even Malik, their captain, deserves a permanent middle order spot on batting merit. Misbah-ul-Haq :hysterical::hysterical:. According to cricinfo, he is 33 years old and last played a test 4 years back and an ODI 3 years back. Link to comment

Yeah i have been wanting Kamal in place of Malik for a while but the problem is that Kamal hasn't made any big scores in domestic cricket. Misbah over Fawad Alam(21 year old batsman from Karachi) who has scored tons of runs in domestic cricket is definitely a big surprise Link to comment

Now you want PCB to throw 100k away cos of his past deeds. If they think he is not good enough anymore then he should be dumped. Is that not what you have been preaching should happen to Sachin? Safe to say that this decision has nothing to do with the finances. There is either too much bad blood some board officials and Inzy or the PCB simply wants to move on. Link to comment

Huge difference. Inzi hasnt been struggling for runs in the last couple of years. He along with Younis Khan & Moyo are a shoo into their test side. Same cannot be said about Sachin in the last couple of years. Add to that the fact that Inzi won a test match in SAF not too long ago and that Pakistan is not known for its batting lineup. If he'd been struggling & refused to retire, PCB would have some justification in treating him this way. But to boot out one of their best batsman of all time, when he hasnt done too much wrong, seems unfair, at best & ludicrous at worst. Had the same been done to Sachin (inspite of his bad form), the media and the whole of India would have erupted by now. Link to comment
Ram
I actually want Inzamam to be dropped , but have been crying my throat hoarse for Sachin's selection. So , I better shut up... Maybe the new members of the pakistani team dont want Inzamam. They probably feel that , with less baggage of failures , they can comnbine more effectively and do well. Who knows ? Link to comment
ali0786
Inzi has been treated wrong, but why in the world would they give a contract to misbah ul haq out of all the players is what i dont understand... Link to comment
