Oh, he turns it. Turns it in both directions, with amazing subtlety and thought. The man is a master to watch, indeed. The dismissal of Hameed was a beauty. Thought him out in the air, beat him in drift, beat him in turn. Gorgeous. I hope the captaincy can help him take his bowling to another level. So far I'm pleased to see the way he's attacked right through this session.

You see guys like Murali or Warne can miss the bat a lot as they turn the ball a mile. Anil Kumble turns the ball not as much so anything that turns sharply or bounces a bit more has a chance of bat/pad or even missing the bat by an inch meaning it will crash on to the stumps.

I feel he is such an unsung hero in Indian cricket. He doesnt shy away from battle. Even though Id still put Kapil Dev as the best bowler in Indian cricket history (given what he did for Indian cricket) ... Kumble is not far behind.
