Correct accuracy , also proper planning and execution is lacking. No point in sacrificing pace for accuracy,then you too dependent on the pitch. Mohammed Abbas struggled a lot in the second test because he didn't have the pace eventough he was accurate. A lot also depends on the fitness and playing practice or domestic matches with that mindset. Akash deep surprisingly opted the second route of sacrificing extra pace.

The pitches there aid fast bowling and also genetically they are built much better than us. India too can produce many fast bowlers.Pitches in Ranji trophy should be result oriented, they should help either seam or spin. Sad to see a team like Mumbai win all trophies even tough they have a mediocre attack. Agreed that they have good quality batters, but that alone shouldn't be a deciding factor. Coaches should encourage young bowlers to go all out, help them by managing their work loads and tell them not worry about injuries Imran khan encouraged Pakistani bowlers to develop aggressive wicket taking mentality when they were young.He would push them to give it all. Going by the way Rohit batted today won't be a bad idea for him to announce retirement and let either Gill or Paddikal takeover that number 3 spot. I really don't see any value in him being with the squad. He was a great white ball player and we would remember him for his contributions in the world cup(2015,2019 and 2023), apart form recent T20 world cup. It's time for the youngsters to take over. At least let the transition start from Sydney, these youngsters won't feel out of place when they are in next series in england.

We can't blame him ,it can't be a one man show. Batters need to score runs and the other bowlers also need to take wickets. ANd then the captain, absolutely hopeless in every aspect (planning, team selection and his batting). On this pitch why did we go with 2 spinners. When all the experts wanted 4 seamers , we went with 3 seamers(2 out of form), 2 spinners and a young batsmen who could bowl a bit. Why did we bring Prasidh if team management is not willing to play him.Whats wrong in investing in Harshit. Kohli, Rohit and also Gill should be dropped from the next test match. Rishab pant needs to standup and score runs, few ancy fancy shots is not what we look from a no.5 It's sad to see that so far it has been a one man show.
