Catching among the new crop of Indian players

Back in the day Likes of VVS,Dravid,Sehwag,Kumble and Ganguly were terrible movers in the field but One thing was sure they were the safest of catchers around....don’t recollect them dropping too many catches even though things like diving after the ball left or stopping with the leg were the norm.

 

However the current crop seem to terrific athletes and pull out some incredible athleticism but boy are they terrible when it comes to holding their catches.

 

Jadhav,Chahal,Karun Nair,Iyer,Pandey and even Kohli are all such poor catchers even though all of them bar Jadhav are very agile and terrific ground fielders.

 

Pretty sure I have seen Dhawan drop a few sitters as well.

 

Is this a huge area of concern with the South African series coming up?
