Someone should have told the UP players to perform when playing for India :hic: have a felling the media exagerate these protests, most of the protesters are no doubt attention seekers wanting their 5 mins of fame. ---------------------------------------------------- KANPUR, Feb 12: Protesting against the exclusion of Uttar Pradesh cricketers in the national team for the World Cup, fans in the city burnt the effigies of cricket board president Sharad Pawar and Selection Committee chairman Dilip Vengsarkar in front of the Green Park stadium on Monday. The fans made a demonstration shouting slogans against Pawar and Vengsarkar before burning their effigies. Mohammed Salman, himself a young cricketer, alleged that the BCCI had been prejudiced against Mohammed Kaif, Suresh Raina, Rudra Pratap Singh and Piyush Chawla who, he said, had performed well in Ranji Trophy and other domestic matches. The protesters carrying banners also caused traffic jams before the Green Park and demanded that Uttar Pradesh players be included in the Indian team.

region bias is there. and if you believe in i, there is nothing wrong in stating it. of course others can disagree and it be debated. question is should you be burning effigies on the street for this? but on the other hand that is possibly the only way these people know how to express their POV.
