Dude, cant you use your brain a bit before you post ? IPL is endorsed by all the cricket boards. Even Sachin is playing in it. An international player doesnt have to retire from active cricket to play in it, understand that.
An international player must retire to play IPL. Not saying that was the reason Gilchrist retired.

Rubbish. check this out! Eleven players contracted to Cricket Australia have IPL deals, but the Test team is due to be in Pakistan when the tournament begins. The crowded schedule no longer bothers Gilchrist and he will be free to take part alongside Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath, his fellow retirees. So cleary he can play the whole time and reel in the mega bucks. I wondered why in this test match he started waffling on about how he midjudged 20/20 and how its great and the future. This clearly played major part in his retirement as allows him to chase the big bucks.

Whats wrong with you guys ? Check this out, "The Herald understands the 11 Australian players to have signed short-form Memoranda of Understanding with the IPL - including Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting and Brett Lee - were placed under significant time pressure to do so. With a limited number of contracts on offer, the BCCI offered to pay leading players 25 per cent of their contract value up-front if they signed by a deadline." http://crichome.wordpress.com/2007/12/03/ipl-boss-we-wont-lure-stars/ Clearly, you can still play active cricket for your international team and yet play for an IPL team. And Dsr, Gilly already won a contract with IPL, he doesnt need to quit cricket to take part in that tournament.

So its official. Saint gilly retired for$$$$$. Another hypocritical chapter by the Saint. Give me MCgrath any day at least he does not pretend to be holier then though!
Its always tragic when someone sees their heroes for what they really are. " say it ain't so Jo, say it ain't so"
Dude, are you playing Dumb-Dick or something like that today ? Get this man, many many active international stars are going to play for IPL.
