Philander was having a decent SA T20 in domestics in December, so a few matches where he played and batsmen were struggling to smash boundaries off him

He is just super accurate, if finds a spot to hit on the pitch, he will hit it 9/10 with ease

But, my main point was about almost all really successful test pacers between 1967 and 2009 being either fast or fast-medium. The pace of only Hadlee does not change that.

You are correct about the medium pacers for the simple reason you give of limited over cricket , today's batsmen are more attacking but have less sound technique.  When I  am in India and at coaching classes I see talented boys upto under 19 but a lot don't move feet much and just hit through the line.  This never happened 25 years ago with  young Indian batsmen
