This is a great thing the selectors have done. I just hope they dont do a half-assed job of it by recalling the seniors at a later date. It's either using ODI's as a breeding ground for youngsters, or waiting two years and then chucking a handful of players with limited international experience into the fray when the big 5 retire within the space of a year of each other. Good job selectors. Now dont blink first.

Completely agree. Excellent job by the selectors to throw so many of our in the deep end which is OZ v OZ. People here are assuming that we could have beaten OZ with Gangs and Dravid, despite them having a pitiful average against OZ. Dravid couldn't even get the ball off the square v OZ in India.SRT should have gotten the chop too. Time to look to the future.

We would not have won the CB series with Ganguly, Dravid, and Laxman anyways. Our ODI team has been mediocre for a very long time now. It's the perfect time to throw the youngsters into the cauldron and see which ones have the mettle for international cricket. No point just giving them soft matches in home conditions against weaker opposition. It's tough series like this which are going to throw out some real performers and even if they all fail try some more. A disastrous series should not mean going back to the old guard. That will be a mistake.
