I'll answer this if you answer this question first :winky:.

What happened to Lara in live Tests? An average of 37+ against ATG bowling pairs is disappointing to say the least. Based on this he shouldn't be first choice in the WI AT XI that will be up against other ATG sides :dontknow:. He can only be first choice in the AT dead rubber XI.

  • first, this thread is NOT about Lara vs Tendulkar
  • second, you dragged the sub in and i am ok with it for timepass
  • third, all tests are live for test cricketers. and Lara's match winning 100s are in wisdom
  • fourth, by talking about live tests (which I do not care about), it does not invalidate other stats presented here (and based on which I rate Lara better in tests)
  • fifth, you only presented crapinfo live tests nonsense, got personal statement and made accusations against me, which is typical of a Sachin fanboy

do you think I care for your answer  .... this is about Tendulkar not punishing you in your nightmares (psychological treatment)

Dude, I think you lost the right to complain about "personal" remarks a loooong time back. The fact that you ended up exposing your aukaat was just collateral damage :dontknow:.

Whether a charlatan like you rates Lara or Chanderpaul or Walsh ahead of Sachin is none of my concern. Because ultimately that is just an opinion. I only argue based on the facts being presented. And if my answers frighten you, you should stop asking dumb  questions in the first place :winky:.

Below is for "all" [McGrath + Warne; Donald + Pollock; Murali] combined:

Anyways, here are the numbers:

Note that vs relatively strong teams Aus, SA and Eng

  • Lara played 79 of his 131 tests, which is 60% of his tests, where he avgs 54 with a SR of 60
  • Tendulkar played 96 of his 200 tests, which is 48% of his tests, where he avgs 51 with a SR of 54. The avg of 51 is also helped by 16 not outs

  • They have the same # of 50+ scores with Lara having a 50 more, while Tendulkar has a 100 more. Therefore, both of them are equally consistent
  • Lara has scored 1114 more!
  • Lara averages 53 with just 6 not outs; Tendulkar averages 51 with 21 not outs
  • This also highlights Tendulkar's inability to score big 100s relative to Lara's

PS Again, when we throw in numbers vs the benchmarked bowling pairs + Murali, the difference in avg is even higher (+10)!

For Tendulkar's sake, you are supposed to be giving and not getting nightmares ...

Lara has played a higher percentage of his tests vs stronger teams. His avg vs these strong teams is higher than his career average. And he has fewer not outs!

Oh look the little vermin is back with new stats :cantstop:. Looks like he happens to be a glutton for punishment.

The little vermin should note that Lara has just 5 Tests hundreds against non-minnows in live Tests. The same as Chanderpaul :hehe:. Tendulkar has almost thrice as many with 14. I do find it amusing that the little vermin takes this stat seriously considering his favorite selfish midget averages only 43.97 in matches won . But hey even Sunny has more 100s in a winning cause than Lara in live Tests. Tch tch.

"Both of Brian Lara's record-breaking innings - 375 and 400 against England in Antigua - came in Tests after West Indies had clinched the series in 1994 and England took it 3-0 in 2004. If you exclude the 18 dead games during Lara's career, his average drops from over 50 to 48.89. "

Looks like the angoothachhaap jaahil is foaming at the mouth again :hehe: . This is what happens when you apply dubious filters in pursuit of an agenda. The question remains, if stats in matches won are important, how come Sunny is the first choice in an AT Indian XI let alone the World XI when he only averaged 43.97 in matches won. People like Vishy and Vengsarkar who played alongside Sunny averaged higher :dontknow:. Or is this another metric that you pull out of your arse that doesn't apply to Sunny just like Avg*SR? :winky:

So out of depression, these losers wrote an article to undermine Lara .... and now immediately lose their mental balance when they see someone rating Lara > Tendulkar :hysterical:
