beetle Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 aur phir sab khushi khushi apne gharchale gaye.......:P
Mr. Wicket Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 VVS Laxman is the most simple' date=' humble, and the most gentlemen like cricketer you will ever meet. His actions make him the man he is today. Im glad he rejected the icon status and im glad that people know about it. He is one thise cricketersr who is not greedy about money like all the other icon players.[/quote'] He can also heal the sick with a touch of his wrist and bring peace to the Middle East while solving world hunger.
yoda Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 this is quite common in pro sports - players taking less money to accomodate others and help create a winning team. it normally happens after the player has made a ton of money and is now just chasing a championship. i have a feeling laxman will probably be part of the DC management of this IPL franchise after his initial stint. also, it might be a way for the team to keep the local fans happy.
cochise Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I think he did it in all sincerity. There is something about the character of the man that is undeniable.
beetle Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I think Laxman has been taken for a ride... agree...

beetle Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 It seems pretty stupid on the part of the team owners to brag about this. They bid 5.4 crores on symonds and are happy that laxi took a cut to get quality players. It is pretty insulting . I hope this gentleman managed to get a good behind the scenes deal with these guys....
