First of all, our U-19 pacers were injured somtime afetr the WC even if we did want to fast-track them.

 

In general, I'm not a fan of fast-tracking bowlers directly from age cricket level. About 2 full domestic seasons would be ideal. One can tell that Shaheen and Hasnain are unfit (fielding-wise) and also not used to handling pressure. Shaheen has looked toothless for sometime now. Has not earne to move the ball.

 

Sure he had a good series in SA on helpful pitches, but do you feel he is ready to be the spearhead of this Pak attack with Hasan Ali? Good luck to Pak if that's the route they want to take.

He averages 26 because he played that stat padding series against Zimbabwe c in 2018. And don't read too much into his average in SAF , as they are the most seam friendly wickets in the world. He got smacked around whenever he's played in helpless conditions like Asia cup in UAE , and here again in England.

Afridi hasn't played against Zimbabwe. He has done relatively well in the UAE. Has two 4 wicket hauls against NZ if I remember correctly.

This England series has been horrific for him so far. The sharpness he had over Hasan, Faheem and company seems to have vanished.
