Suhaan
Kumar should be dropped straightway ,its not like he will groom youngsters,no swing,no pace,no accuracy Got zilch to train youngsters Going forward Dhawan and Rohit should be selecting matches to play to let youngsters have enough game time Link to comment

Vijy
On 7/12/2019 at 1:58 AM, express bowling said: 1. Rohit 2. Agarwal ( backup for Dhawan ) 3. Vihari ( stopgap for Kohli ) 4. Gill 5. Pant 6. Pandya 7. Jadeja 8. Rahul Chahar ( backup for Kuldeep / Chahal ) 9. Saini 10. Shami 11. Avesh ( backup for Bumrah) 12. Dhawan 13. Iyer 14. Khaleel 15. Axar --- Rest Kohli and the bowlers who have played a lot. Shami can lead the inexperienced pacers and Jadeja can lead the spinners. --- Drop over the hill Dhoni, DK and Kedar --- Drop Rahul because he lacks focus. --- Develop Gill as long term No.4. Don't bat him at 3 just because Kohli is not there. --- Develop Pant as the long term No.5 and keeper. --- Pandya should become the No.6 batter and 6th bowler. --- This team has 6 bowlers big hitters from 5 to 7 no deadweights a potentially solid No.4 . 3 specialist pacers 2 specialist spinners I'd switch Pant and Mayank. Pant does not, at this stage in his career, have the kind of complete middle-order game that is required. He is more like Gilly to me - open in ODIs and bat in the middle order in Tests since there is the license to go over the top. Second, move Jaddu to 6 and Pandya to 7. Jaddu cannot hit at the speed than Pandya can and he is more of a "proper" batsman at the domestic level; he has also avgd 42 in tests in the past 2.5 yrs. Rahul Chahar has a higher ceiling, but have Gopal in for him now. Gopal's bowling has gotten better in 50- and 20-over matches, he bats well (scores at a SR of nearly 100 in List A) and fields well. Have Iyer instead of Vihari. Although a No. 3 does not have to be a power hitter, I cannot see Vihari playing the modern ODI game. He would have been well-suited for the early 2000s (and before). No matter what teams we propose, what we will get is this (especially against our whipping boys SL): Dhawan, Rohit, Kohli, Shankar, Dhoni, Pandya, DK, Bhuvi, Bumrah, Shami/Kuldeep, Chahal. Let's just resign ourselves to the inevitable. Link to comment
