If that is the bowling attack we have, that is what we have .... A batting and bowling is strengthened by adding players who can add value.  Much like you cannot strengthen batting relatively by adding a D Mongia, you cannot strengthen the bowling by adding a spinner in  unhelpful conditions. Our spinners most often than not require ideal conditions to be successful. Below are numbers against regular line ups:

Warne is in a league of his own. Our spinners can only compete if they have a great day. Similarly for many of our pace bowlers. 

 

 

 

Good in theory but in practice, Pant holds the world record of most catches in a test .... also note that a 20 runs difference in "career avg" (not runs in a random inng) demonstrates a different class of batsmanship -> Kapil avgs 31, Gavaskar 51; Healy 27, Gilly 48
