vamos_rafa Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 any shot can be justified like that.point is he did not need to for flashy drives there If he would have missed out on a few half-volleys, then we would have criticized him for letting go on easy deliveries.
ganeshran Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Dhoni's shot today was awful. He just swatted it back to bowler. Didnt try to defend, didnt try to drive - no idea what he was doing there
BeautifulGame Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I couldnt even understand what his intention was playing that shot.Neither trying to defend nor going for it  But i dont see the point in blaming him.Everyone knows he doesnt have great technique against new ball and u shouldnt expect keeper to have tha either.Frankly i cant even remember any keeper having good technique against new ball in recent memory maybe apart from Flower and Gilly.Even Gilly struggled against new ball in Ashes 2005 when he was exposed to it. So its the responsibility of Senior batsmen like Sachin and Laxman to see of the 2nd new ball and make it easier for lower order. But predictably they failed.
PSB_Zone Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Dhoni Should give up test match captaincy and concentrate on odi I think time for dhoni to give up test captainship which will free him frm amazing work load...he is a gud captain in odi cricket and also a better odi player...test cricket is not his forte..The only guy who could be next captain is sehwag...wat say?
Needforspeed Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 No Sehwag is too laidback and irresponsible to be captain. Gautam Gambhir is a better option.

I agree but for tht he should be in gud form and consistency...A captain is a regular player and gambhir in the last two year is very bad..His technique is found wanting in swinging and bouncy pitches..
