Workload management 2021

There are going to be a lot of games in all formats in 2021. For e.g., Ind played 2 tests in Aus in Jan, then it plays 4 v Eng, 5 in Eng, 2 v NZ, and probably 1 to 3 in Dec-Jan in SA. Add IPL, Asia Cup and T20 WC, along w/ bilateral LOIs. Therefore, managing the workload for players (incl. identifying which series and formats they focus on) could become paramount (more work for the coach and selectors).

May be, we could reach a point where we may need 2 11s - one for Tests and one for LOIs esp. for bilaterals. Players would need to get wiser too to become more proactive with managing their workload. More than dropping players, we may need a larger pool to have an effective rotation where necessary.

Will be interesting to see how BCCI goes. Will it learn from the injuries and quarantine related challenges that the team faced recently to come with a game plan or will it wait for the wheels to fall off before waking up to take adequate action?

Ind may need to tentatively have a pool like the below:

Add youngsters / new players such as Paddikal, Gaikwad, Krishna, etc.
