Ashwin also spoke about the challenges of the bubble and how the team management walked the talk on empathizing with the players.

 

"Sometimes, these hotels can be very, very claustrophobic, you don't even get fresh air and in Australia there were situations where you didn't have window panes opening also. And for 14 days and then 20-25 days to stay inside that can be quite taxing," Ashwin said.

 

"Communication isn't easy, especially when you're abroad. Cricket Australia or whoever it is, it goes back and forth, it takes time for everything to get an answer, so it is like when you're waiting on certain things... It cannot be easy and many a time the team management has stood up and tried to resolve, look at what is best for the players, in terms of arranging the food that you get. Very, very simple things, but these are the things we need to be fighting for in these situations because everything needs to go through the protocol, everything needs to be looked at," Ashwin added.

 

"The team bonding and the team morale that the teams build because of these bio-bubbles is something that I have not experienced in the last decade of cricket I have played," Ashwin said. "It's been quite special, understanding a lot of people, and even the opportunity for someone to understand you as a person, the interaction in the common lounge area that we share is quite special. Some of those comebacks and some of those difficult situations that we have faced has not come as a surprise. It got us together."

At least there is a positive in this bio-bubble saga. And how mentally tough are our cricketers? So many of these players have been in this isolated state since Aug/Sep 2020 mostly outside India.....yet hardly any breach, no complaints or whining, no excuses, no tantrums...exemplary behavior and attitude. Respect
