It may not work today and now in the CoViD context, but its importance must be emphasized from grade school. While teaching math, show children how to use numbers correctly in real life. In 6th grade: "Bachhon ... dadi maa kehti hai ki lauki ka joos piyoge toh samajhdaar ban jaaoge. Kaise pataa karen ki yeh sach hain ya nahin?" Sample size, Randomization, mean, standard deviation, t-tests. Simple shyte.
