Cricketics Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 some fantastic fielders we have been witnessing throughout the IPL series. Munaf Patel offcourse comes to mind easily. VRV SIngh is doing some great artistic work in the out field too. exceptional out fielding today. lets update this thread whenever u feel there is a guy who deserves to get this status.
Cricketics Posted May 5, 2008 Author Posted May 5, 2008 couple of ocassions Ishant looked ordinary. well we need regular ones. plyaers like Ishant and Jaffer do some misfield but then then are decent fielders too. Ishant specially does some decent outfielding.
Ram Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Ishant is 6"6 and both Munaf and VRV are 6"4. Its difficult for guys of such stature to be agile and flexible, especially Asians. Particularly, outfielding ( running towards the ball aggressively, bending down and pick-up and quick release) requires suppleness at various joints of the body, like hip, knee and shoulder. The big guys arent blessed with a huge amounts of these. So, we really cant blame these guys for being sloppy in the outfield every now and then.
