I thought they were selected based on their IPL performances.

Team for ODIs has been selected based on 2007-8 FC performances, India A and earlier ODI series. Those who had done well in Challengers trophy, been in the fringes for playing in CB series, and those who had done well in Ranji onedayers and Deodhar trophy have been selected. IPL has not been considered at all, according to the BCCI. In fact Sehwag has been warned by the BCCI formally for expressing his views that IPL should have been considered for selections. BCCI dont want the IPL should dictate terms for their "own" India team selections....because IPL shouldnt be given that "status" according to the BCCI babus.

Would be interesting if you applied the same logic when the test squads are selected and Mishra is overlooked consistently for Chawla despite having a stellar FC record for season after domestic season. BTW' date= domestic OD games are not FC matches.
