DomainK
The old question in new age cricket- To walk or not to walk? We saw Sangakara to day walk when the umpire thought it wasn't out. He might as well have walked away from the first IPL trophy. Did he ditch his team in being honest with the opposition? Is being honest to the oposition and the umpires is more important than the collective interest of the team? If you are in a situation like that: you can play that instrumental knock and get your team to a final or say win a final for your team...would you walk or would you not? nospam
No, you are out only when the umpire gives you out

Parth
If Punjab needed 2 to win from last over, one wicket, would he walk, probably not so why walk now.
DomainK
hahhaha how different opinions were when symonds didnt walk! There was only one opinion when you posted. Dont you think you should wait for a few others to post before generalizing?
arkay
Hats off to Sangakarra. I really admire him for that. Given that this is a very crucial match, despite that he walked out. There are very few who would do that.
Gambit
Don't walk. In today's age of massively commercialised cricket, there are millions of rupees and hopes riding on every decision. Don't shoot yourself in the foot. The umpires are paid to decide whether you are out or not. Don't make that decision for them.
Gambit
hahhaha how different opinions were when symonds didnt walk! As I said in the match thread, people didn't hound Symonds for not walking. Everyone was after the umpire.

ludhianvi
I respect him for his decision. As for my take on this: IMO, the umpires are there for a reason. Some decisions go your way and some against you. So to make if fair, I would not walk. Otherwise, the fact that you are walking and also getting some rough decisions from the umpire would make it one sided.
yoda
Ump should make the call. Walking is too subjective and controversial.

The Outsider
While I don't think batsmen are obliged to walk, walking should always be appreciated. Good to see some responsibility and honesty at times.
satishg
it depends upon the individual..so there is no rite or wrong in tis..if someone is a walker it wud be gud if they stay like that not like they walk wen they want to and they dont other times.. f.b.m
Sangakarra gas walked a few times. I remember once in a SL-ENG odi match at Dambulla, no one appealed and he simply went away for a faint nick.
