Gautam Gambhir unhappy with India's domination over Pakistan, says 'this is bad for subcontinent cricket'

T20 may be popular but not marquee. Good tests are remembered for eternity, ODIs too have long shelf life. Nobody remembers what happened in a T20 the next day, even if that T20 is a WC/franchise league final.

That is yet another myth.
We all remember that iconic innings by Kohli in 2022 WC. We also remember the Babar and Rizwan humiliation in 2021.

we all remember that Misbah scoop to lose the final.

ODI and test cricket are on a sharp decline and it is highly unlikely they will survive the proliferation of T20 leagues

Since PSL started producing talent in 2018/2019, Pakistan has done better than India in the recent both T20 world cups.
If it weren’t for an outlandish innings by Kohli, India was gone for all money last game as well.
I think India is a better ODI and test team. But T20 team is ok-ish. India needs 2-3 rapid fast bowlers and couple of powerhitters to continuously challenge the best and come close to winning a title. In T20, “tight wicket to wicket bowling” and low risk accumulation hasn’t scaled for India in T20 World cups, specially in last Ko match vs Eng.

Absolute rubbish.

They won none of these cups like India. There is no "doing better than India" cup.

2021 they lucked out with the toss in the group stage and luck failed them in SF.

2022 the batting worked in low bounce Sydney but as soon as they reached the MCG in the final, batsmen could hardly make a run like the India game.

India has the better T20 W/L ratio since 2018/19 and also has won more series. I remember Pakistan losing a series to England at home. India has won all it's T20 series vs England in that time period.

Now that India got IPL talent in, they won Asian games gold while PSL "talunt" lost to both Afg and Bangladesh and couldn't win even a bronze.

I am not sure if we were watching the same world cups.

India was humiliated by Eng in the semi final in both batting and bowling.

Whereas Pak humiliated NZ and went neck to neck with Eng. Shaheen’s 2 overs at the death could have won us the game had he not been injured. Eng was very lucky to escape with that win.

On talent, didn’t Pakistan A school India A recently? I don’t think top young PSL talent like Zaman Khan, Saim, Ihsanullah,

and, Azam Khan were even sent to these A games or Asian games. Either injured or playing foreign leagues.

No they didn't.

Only tournament where similar teams were played was Asian Games and we saw what happened.

Pakistan lucked out due to pitches in WC 22. Only defeated NZ due to pitch in Sydney. Batsmen couldn't buy a run in MCG (where Pak batsmen were humiliated by Bhuvi and Arshdeep before).

There was no "neck to neck". Match was over in 10th over itself. Shaheen lucked out by getting injured otherwise it would have ended earlier in an even more humiliating manner with him being tonked for three straight sixes like last time. Even in the match against India, Shaheen was tonked for 3 boundaries by Kohli. Shaheen was always a one trick poy and now with his speed declined and lack of swing he is a no trick pony. Horrible death bowler. Couldn't even get Maharaj and Shamsi out lol.

Conditions, pitch. It seems everything favored Pakistan. Nicely done! It’s these loser excuses that prevent India from becoming champions despite IPL and its wealth of resources.

The game would have gone closer had Shaheen remained fit was tweeted by legends like Sachin.

It’s a myth Shaheen is not a great bowler with the old ball. This year he averages under 15 in overs 40-50. His WC 2023 average so far is 22, one of the best for any pacer. And this is despite no swing and wickets with the new ball.

I have been seeing the matches. All wickets when trying to slog or tailenders.

Only good batsman wicket was Miller where he was defeated on the defence. No bowled, caught behind or lbw of any other proper batsman.

And both Shami and Bumrah have better WC 2023 averages, before and after the England match. And these guys actually have beaten the batsmen in defence many times.

Yes, that is not a myth. The low bounce of Sydney did favour them.

Batting failed in MCG and Perth against Ind and Zim. Did well against SA and NZ in Sydney. Back to failing at the MCG. Pakistani batsmen don't like pace and bounce - that everyone knows.

All ifs and butts.

Pak was overall a more accomplished and competitive outfit at display in 2021 and 2022 WCs. 2024 will be no different.

Gambhir has nothing to worry about.

I am eagerly anticipating a pace quartet of  Ishsanullah,  Naseem Shaheen and Rauf in T20s.
