Brainfade Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 My vote goes to: Brihadeeshwarar temple in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. The intricate carvings and the overall architecture are a sight to behold; and the tower is carved from a single rock. Amazing.
CC1981 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Easily, for me, gotto be the iron pillar of mehruli and konarak, of the ones i've seen.
riya Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 A lot of temples in India are clearly underrated .some of the works are just breath taking .
fineleg Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 my house. bunch of legendz living there who are the bunch? is Virat Kohli staying at your house?
Lurker Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Most Indian monuments are under rated. More Indians of my generation have seen Niagara Falls/Las vegas/Disneyland than those who have seen Taj Mahal. But if you get specific I would say Eastern monuments are completely unknown to rest of India, pretty much everything from Bihar to Kamarupa(and beyond).
coffee_rules Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 The temples in Belur, Halebidu in Karnataka are really monumental. How many have atleast heard of it (if you are not from Karnataka)?
