Our clutch of good pacemen were despite, not because of, the system. Siraj the only one who came through via the domestic and A team structure. Bumrah is a freak and the rest - Ishant, ,Shami, Umesh took years to develop. We are now seeing the effects of no A team tours over the last few years. The good FC bowlers- Mukesh, Avesh, Krishna -have not had that exposure 

 

Prasidh has only 12 FC matches to his name, no A team cricket (?) expectations are unfair. 

 

Similarly now Jadeja and Ashwin over a 5 test series, let's hope their bodies cope.

 

Huge questions around Rohit bowling changes. And BCCI planning,  the current management didn't know they'd be on this your until a few weeks ago. Wtf.

If the impact of the work put in on Siraj in 2018 showed in 2020, it's also possible we might see the real impact of no developmental programmes in two or three years' time.
