Except CSK, a lot of the titles have been won with teams having opener-keepers. MI with Parthiv, KKR with Robbie and Salt, GT with Saha, Gilchrist in DC I think. 

I like Dhruv Jurel in tests but as far as T20s concerned would like him to play in top order for RR or any other franchise first and then see how he performs

That’s right! Same with Jitesh Sharma. They could and should not select him before he performs in that position. So might as well give it to current opener-keepers, who are possibly Sanju, Prabhsimran, Ishan, KL, and maybe Rishabh.

How about Abhishek Porel..he played some brisk innings for Delhi Capitals without wasting time in the start

Yeah, and as you can see most keeper batters prefer the opening slot. Even Pant started out as opener playing for Delhi in SMAT, where smashed everyone. Porel smashed LSG for 70 odd when he was given the opening slot. With Prabhsimran coming in, now there’s a certain pattern emerging in these teams.

For wicketkeeper, it has to be Samson. Pant and Ishan are terrible. 

This is something Samson has been doing in IPL. Should have played many more T20s till now. Better than Dhoni and Pant combined.

Looked to have more intent than Gill..if he opens like that..then it fixes my keeper spot issue(open with Samson) and we can have more free flowing Middle Order

That is still not a pair yet..TM sees Gill and Jaisawal as an opening pair as of now..hence this series was important for Abhishek to break through..he didnt help his cause with cheap dismissals
