Abbe mere saath to yeh hua ki uski mummy aa gayi usse milne yahaan US. and she stayed here for 6 months. And that was the end of that :finger:. but she wasn't from India. Maybe that also made it difficult, as she was from one of the axis of evil countries. Hahaha. mine was ultra mod but a silent understanding that we couldnt go fwd, she wasn't namazi or anything like that..apna bollywood material ..but I was only one of her bf's so..
cybervickey Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 can't say about UK, Canada...But in India...Sikhs do marry with Punjabis... even Pug Dhari Sikhs..get married to Normal Punjabis... ( without Pug) Many Hindus..marry Christians...and Christians...marry Hindus... well sikhs in the usa are the ones that got here on asylum after the khalistan movement,so they are bound to be more religious!

cybervickey Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 replace that with jewish... and well i have not quite moved on... memories are difficult to overcome. didnt know jewish people were so much into religion!arent they the fastest decreasing religion on earth or something like that ?
cybervickey Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 also i cant believe that religion can play such a big parts in relationships!.
sandtest Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Talking of inter-caste marriage, things are changing among UP Brahmins albeit slow pace. recently my cousin, married a girl from Rajasthan, they are not Brahmins. Initially their was a a lot of noise within the family like we should attend the marriage or not....Larki "Baabhan" nahin hai, uske haath ka paani kaun piyegaa, vagairah vagairah.:haha: Ultimately everyone attended the marriage and this newly wed gal is a huge hit for her soft speaking skills and great attitude. The thing which striked me was very few people from girl's side attended the marrige, so it's not the we so called "higher caste" UPwallas who are selective about this, even other castes also wish to marry within their own community!! I hope with incidents like these, come next generation, at least, caste barrier will be history in marriages.

THX_1138 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 didnt know jewish people were so much into religion!arent they the fastest decreasing religion on earth or something like that ? dude... they are social progressives, but when it comes to marital issues, it is one of the most close knit community... but in all fairness, she had considerable influence from her entire family that pretty much ganged up on her against me.
