Disgusting indeed! But a normal practice in ummah. As per Islamic rulings of influencial Deobandi/Salafi Schools in UP, only following two categories of children are not permitted for marriage: (1) Those born from same womb (2) Those sucked the milk of same mother. Rest all is Sunnah.

If Yousuf and Irfan's sister are born out of same mother then cannot! Otherwise they can. Actually GIB, you have to look at Islamism from Muhammad's period in Saudi Arabia, where Saudi tribes of those times like Bani hashim -Quireish etc. from which Muhammade belonged, use to marry each other within family. As per Quran, All acts of Muhammad and his sayings must be considered as "Sunnah" (Halaal or right!), hence since Muhammad himself married his Daughter Fatima to his father's brother son Ali, therefore from there-on, Incest became right since it's an act of Sunnah (Prophet's deed), therefore automatically right! and will even earn some rewards in Jannah.:-D

Its certainly not a RULE in Sanatan Dharam... i am yet to see any such case in WB, Bihar , Haryana or Punjab... there is no such practice in these states.. Heck in Haryana...bosy and girls belonging to same village can not be married to each other..as they are considered as brothers and sisters...and such marriages are not encouraged...

Zubin, there is a lot of influence of Islamic culture upon day today life of Dharmic people of India, due to our history. You given an example of South, let me point an example of North. In UP and Rajasthan -- from where Islamists invaded India, even today marraiges are performed in Night time!! Why? Reason is, during those time we North Indians were ruled by Islamists, and under Shariah law any prayer practice other than Islam is discouraged. Since Hindu marraige requires Havan, Yagna etc, to avoid, conflicts with Muslim rulers, our ancestors in north India started performing marraiges in night --- and from their on it took the form of culture. While in South hindus you can still see the marraiges in broad daylight!

i think Yousuf is from one woman...and irfan and the girl is from another... so Mehboob Khan can keep all the wealth at home by marrying Yousuf with his step sister...and keep the things within family..:haha:...
