India's bowling in Asia Cup : This is totally unacceptable.

He is missed for sure... but don't you think there is something amiss when a country like India doesnot have another decent budding offspinner.
Sure, we need more talented offspinners in India and for them to come thru good but just sayign Bhajji cant be replaced for a while...He is very important in odis and t20 and to some extent in test cricket.

Please let's stop this harping about missing Harbhajan like our neighbors constantly whine about missing their phhaaast bowlers. The guy was in serious breach of conduct by slapping his own teammate and does not deserve to play for the length of time of his ban. Good riddance to bad rubbish till he can sort himself out.

A good team is one which can perform to a good level in all conditions. The CB series is the only thing of significance we have won during the last year. Even England managed to do that last year - that did not make them a good side. Despite all the hype and optimism surrounding our ODI side on ICF' date=' results are still too few and far between. A series loss to England, to Australia, a 3-2 win at home against Pakistan, losing a cup to Pakistan. Hardly results to boast about. Good teams are built on results not on paper and besides the CB series there are hardly any results to show.[/quote'] The losses against England and Australia were with the old-guard, with guys like Ganguly and Dravid still in the team. This new look team started with the T20 world cup, continued with the CB series and the Kitply cup and now is going to finish with Asia cup. Needless to say, our performance in those tournaments have been impressive. We won the T20 and CB series and even though we lost the Kitply cup, its common knowledge that we were heavy favorites. Even in this tournament, we have entered as clear favorites. Now, how many times in the last 10 years have we gone into a tournament featuring Pakistan and Lanka, as the outright favorites? All the excitement is about this new look team and it is pretty justified. There's not a single match that they have lost badly, or given up too early.

To be very honest, i could have done better than some of these bowlers in the death... bowling yorkers and chasing a batsman as he steps aside to make room... changing pace when he charges down the track... etc etc are so instinctive to me (and virtually every half way decent bowler) that one must question these skill of these bowlers when they are unable to avoid rookie mistakes such as maintaining the same length when the batsman is attacking and thus becoming predictable; or giving the batsman width on the on-side when virtually every batsmen around is a bonafide on-side genius! p.s. why dont our right hand bowlers instinctively come around the wicket to the left handed batsman? i cant even imagine bowling otherwise to a left handed batsman since an over the wicket approach would convert most delieveries into a leg-middle stump line and anytime the ball is not nipping back, its only giving him more room outside off...
