A total of 12 teams, South Africa, Afghanistan, Nepal, Australia, England, UAE, India, Pakistan, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Hong Kong China will participate in the three-day event. The teams have been divided into four groups and India and Pakistan, expectedly, have been clubbed in the same group (Group C).

 

Whether it be men's cricket or women's, U-19, Emerging Asia Cup, Blind Cricket, WCL or now Hong Kong Sixes, these two teams will always find themselves in the same group. This kind of farce doesn't happen in any other sport.

 

Next year's T20 WC will also mysteriously see these 2 teams in the same group, even if that means we have to play in Colombo. Same will happen in 27 WC.

Other teams should raise this issue, high time.

 

Draw rigging is a banworthy offence. In sports like football, hockey, tennis, drawing is either based on pre-tourney seeding or there is a live draw, full transparency either way.

Though organized by Hong Kong cricket association, this is an ICC sanctioned tournament with a long history.
