vvvslaxman Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I see a rise in this. Given the insane amount of competition that is going around. Players some times captain abuse their position to eat up more balls. Gill when he was intiitally appointed as captain did this. Then Tilak varma when he was captain decided to bowl himself in asia emerging cup when he had so many better bowlers at his disposal. Almost cost the game. Then Jitesh Sharma decided to play the super over. Out here Tilak varma consumed enoromous amount of devlieries in both matches played two net negative knocks. Ruturaj in the 2nd match. Even in the IPL Ruturaj abused his power. Paragh did the same. Ultimate_Game and Manucrick 2

Jitesh Sharma went in to play Super Over when he had Sooryavanshi and Mhatre waiting in the wings and ended up scoring 0 in the Super Over. And now Tilak is stat padding and scoring at a low SR coz he isn't a ODI player but wants to get there just like Gill. In the first match he scores 60 off 100 balls and in the 2nd match scored 66 off 73. In both the matches he was the slowest batter and nearly lost the first match and lost the 2nd one. You're spot on that we have set a wrong precedent and hope selectors see that and kick out these selfish players who're putting their interests ahead of team's. The stat-padding culture has worsened and everyone trying to do the same now in ODIs. Thankfully the T20 culture has changed but ODIs are still being played in the same selfish manner. Manucrick 1
