The similarities between Kirsten and Gambhir

When Wasim and Waqar played, Kristen struggled a lot. I have watched the video. When Pakistan toured in 2002, back then we didn't have Akhtar and Wasim. That's how he gained average. He also struggled against West Indies with likes of Ambrose and Walsh and also against Australia. Only Kallis who consistent performed well against Pakistan, WI and Australia. Why not take a look at Cricinfo. Inzimam never was good against Australia, but he was best against West Indies with likes of Amrbose and Walsh. Only one team he struggled in his whole life, but Kristen has struggled most of times whenever Pakistan played Wasim and Waqar. Never was impressed with him.

Gary Kirsten played Wasim Akram in four matches total Akram got his wicket thrice in eight innings. I have found three of those matches. IN one of them in 94/95 Kirsten made 62 and 42 getting out to Akram in the second innings. SA won that match by 324 runs. The second match was in97/98 where Kirsten made 56 and DNB. The match was drawn. Akram got only one wicket. In the third match in 97/98, Kirsten made a 100 in the first innings and 4 in the second. SA won that by 53 runs. Now, Kirsten opened batting and Akram opened bowling for Pakistan in all those matches. So they did face each other quite enough. I cant see how he struggled against Akram. A century two half centuries and a 42 in three matches....I think he was playing Akram quite comfortably there. And Waqar Yunis got him thrice in seven matches. So where is the struggle? You have seen some video where Wasim and Waqar bowled some good deliveries and Kirsten looked uncomfortable and got the impression that he always struggled against them. Statistics say that there was nothing like that. Kirsten has scored against them like I pointed out, has maintained a huge average against Pakistan in Pakistan.

Those were few matches Kristen performed well, but most of times, struggled. Both bowlers dominated more to him than he did to them. Never mind, but he sounds like good batman. Not a single inning of Kristen serves brilliant memory. Don't know why. I always knew Kristen likely to get dismissed. It was Hansie and Kallis that always brought Pakistan in pressure most of times. That's all i can say.He is like Saeed Anwar who has performed well in few matches, but struggled the rest of it.

Did Ganguly dominate Wasim, Waqar? No. But he has fine average against Pakistan. Just because he has fine average, that doesn't mean he is best batman in the world.
