Now you ask for 10! So, according to your assessment, the entire Sri Lankan team, which wants next year's English tour deferred so that they can participate in IPL, are traitors right? The rest of the post is just your usual blind prejudice coming through.

The Sri Lankan tour to England is ad hoc caused by the withdrawal of Zimbabwe - the tour did not exist when the players signed on for IPL, their chairman is on record urging his players to play test matches, and moreover till next April we won't actually know how many are going and how many not. The ones that don't go don't become traitors but lose a certain moral high ground like Dhoni has. He is merely a professional playing for money from now on, nothing wrong with that, but the next time he makes a statement about how playing for India makes him so proud etc. etc. he will just be a hypocrite and have no ground to stand on.

But, we conveniently pronounce judgments on committment to the national team. Quite funny, to be honest. IF our national coach himself is convinced Dhoni needs rest and is comfortable with his decision to skip this series, then one must really wonder where is all the criticism coming from.

The rest can be well paid professionals who'll play for my galli team if I can give them enough money.

First of all, your 'Aussie players returned home' doesnt hold relevance to this, Dhoni didnt opt out of the Lankan series to practice for IPL, he did so because he had fitness concerns. Its really really funny because international players are holding their home boards to ransom, so that they can play in the IPL. The english is team is adamant they want a piece of the pie and made sure the Stanford 20/20 was in place. The Lankan players want their forthcoming English tour postponed so that they can particiapte in IPL. Players are coming out of retirement to take part in this. And Heck, even the incomparable Sachin Tendulkar made a comeback from injury, to take part in this. He gets injured again and missed the Saffie series, but no one bothered. But, Dhoni is the lone culprit. Bravo! That is objective assessment at its best!

Besides, thats not the point I am trying to make. This isnt about Sachin's decision Vs Dhoni's decision. Its about Dhonis' call only and I think its a fair one.

This isnt about Sachin's decision Vs Dhoni's decision. Its about Dhonis' call only and I think its a fair one. If anything Tendulkar injured himself while playing the SA series. He could have gone the Dhoni route, skipped the entire SA series, and played IPL to earn more bucks but decided to risk it despite carrying a niggle throughout the Aussie tour.

Just continue playing so that our country's ODI, T20 captain and one of the BEST performers with the bat is out injured for 4-5 months? What a tiring year which could have resulted an injury to Dhoni. But Dhoni has never failed himself instead has crawled to no.2 position in ICC ODI rankings. Nothing wrong in taking a preventive measure - why do it during the SL test series because it obviously features lower in the priority list for him. What's wrong in accepting the simple fact?
