MPS 3
Gambhir seems to have matured a lot as an opener recently but the main question is.. will he perform outside sub-continent on fast pitches. Kartik and Jaffer will go out of reckoning now after this consistency shown by Gambhir. Link to comment
cowboysfan
I will say one thing-the walking across the stumps stuff will not work with faster bowlers. Link to comment
Holysmoke
Well, he did do pretty well in Aus and SA, altho it was ODI's and T20's respectively. No harm in giving it a shot, he deserves it. Link to comment
Willow_on_fire
Gamby so far....:hatsoff: Link to comment
SachDan
Gauti deserves all the praise showered on him....excellent player and the perfect foil for Veeru. Link to comment
msb1991
He has done well in ODIs and T20Is on quick pitches so I don't think that is the issue. The main issue, imo, is him going on to get massive scores. He won't be in such good form for the whole of his career and he needs to capitalise on it when it occurs to help the team as much as possible. Link to comment
fineleg
GG is good playing medium pacers and spin bowlers. Hope he can graduate to playing the likes of Brett Lee, or someone equivalent to a Shane Bond on a fast pitch. Thats a tough ask, one that Akash Chopra managed in Aus. Lets hope GG does it. msb1991
There aren't too many express Test fast bowlers in world cricket though and no one of extreme pace. Very rarely, these days, does anyone in world cricket bowl at 150kph in a Test outside Australia. Link to comment
Dravid
even though gambhir is gonna be a lot more consistent then jaffer/kkd... i doubt he will ever make a really big one.. like 200... Link to comment
