Count Dooku Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Or is it all over now? If so, I may as well stop logging on or watching the games.
yoda Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? No chance. We will lose to SL.
Bumper Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? 1) We have to thrash Bermuda, by a bigger margin than SL did. 2) We get to play Lanka last (which is also Lanka's last game). We will know the exact margin of victory to get ahead of Lanka by then. Its a tough ask, but possible
King Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? Or is it all over now? If so' date=' I may as well stop logging on or watching the games.[/quote'] As much as I don't want you to go away from the website I would not look for a false hope of India making it to the next round. They are down and out IMO. BTW you are here to support Indian cricket and not players. It was the players that lost the game, Indian cricket will continue on its merry way and we will be around to see it progress. :wtg:
The Outsider Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? Bumper, our competition will be BD and not SL. SL are way ahead in the run rate race. We have to beat Bermuda by a bigger margin than BD and then beat SL.
Gaurav Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? India will go out as they don't have the bottle to try and salvage anything.
Count Dooku Posted March 18, 2007 Author Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? I am fast losing interest in cricket. The only reason I am following the WC was because of India. Now If India go out (my guess is they will since they don't have the spine to fight back) then I am out of the WC07 for good. My hope would be that WI win it and AUS don't win. But I won't be following it as keenly as now. The only bright light today is that PAK is DEFINELTLY going home. :wtg:

Mandrake Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? The team has to forget about the result today and play lot more positively....I would like to think we can still do it....why cant we?
Predator_05 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? Beating Bermuda big time and then thrashing Lanka are two CONCEIVABLY possible outcomes. If you have lost hope, look up India's last two results vs SL in the World Cup - that will give you enough reason to believe.
Gaurav Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? The team has to forget about the result today and play lot more positively....I would like to think we can still do it....why cant we? Abhe bade bap :hic: Did you see the body language of most Indian players? Body language like that shows that the players bottled it as soon as we lost an early wicket. How do you expect such spineless beyatches to "do it" as you say? Tendulkar looked like a baccha out of his depth and not a world class batter. Have to give some credit to Gangu and Yuvraj for showing some fight.
Count Dooku Posted March 18, 2007 Author Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? The only was to do it is: 1. Drop Motu - I think EVERYONE will agree to that. 2. Open with Ganguly & Sachin - then we will see some fire works 3. Dravid to be mysteriously fall ill so that someone else can make proper decision. We should have bowled today and he decides bat - let's in Motu. ARgggggggggggggggggggggggg. I give up. A real sad day for me. :tired: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:      :tired: :tired: :tired: :tired: :tired:
Zooter Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? Yes it's still possible. India's next game is against Bermuda--a must win for India. Even if India lose against Lanka in the following match, India can qualify for the Super 8s IF Bermuda beat Bangladesh. That's not too likely, ... ... so to be safe ... India HAS TO BEAT LANKA AND BERMUDA.
Zooter Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? And Yes, Pak. is OFFICIALLY GONE. They are 0-2 as of right now, and thus are disqualified from advancing.

GKD...if they play like today they will never ever win no matter what the opposition...the fact is they have still got a chance and they need to believe it can be done.....tomorrow is another day.
Zooter Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? I don't know if this is me panicking, but I tend to agree: The Fatty taklu (i.e. Faklu) might just have to be dropped. Zero runs against that West Indies rout, 2 runs against Bangladesh and a paltry 28 against a Dutch side which might just be the WORST team in this tournament. Goodbye Faklu--give someone else a chance now.
veer Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? i dont think dravid will dare taking veeru in the side..
cricajar Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 SHOW SOME GUTS YOU SPINELESS "SUPPORTERS" God its sickening reading this nonesense you so called "fans" write on this webpage, you disgust me and disgrace my great nation of India. Yes we played like shit today, there is no getting around it. But Bangladesh also played brilliantly, they are really becoming a world class team. Its been a process that has been going on for a while, we've seen glimmers of it in the past...they've beat us before, they've beat pakistan heck they've even beaten the Aussies! They have some legit good players Mortaza is amazing and he's got some real pace on him. So just CALM the heck down...with all this fatalistic thinking. Yes we've got our backs to our walls, but all you whiners out there are complaining about how our players are spineless look at yourselves. We lose one match and your ready to throw your team to the wolves, sacrifice them under the bus. Show some testicular fortitude. Deal with the pressure! Support your team when they NEED your support. They don't need your cheers when they're winning, they need a pat on the back when things aren't going well. Besides I have to wonder, do some of you have any cricket knoweldge at all? You can't blame dravid for this match, he made the right choice to bat first...I don't think ANYONE, not even GOD expected the mighty Indian line-up to capitulate like it did. The decision to bat first wasn't the reason we lost we lost cause played like an insipid bunch of losers. But that doesn't mean its over, its a shot in their arm. One we definitely needed. I think we got a little imperious after our demolition of WI. Now we need to focus. AND YOU DO YOUR PART! Support the TEAM...BHARAT MATA KI JAI! BHARAT BHARAT...WE BELIEVE WE BELIEVE WE BELIEVE! 1. Sehwag has to go, i appreciate that Dravid and the administration has kept faith in a match-winning player but enough is enough...now is not the time to "play" someone back into form. 2. I think Kaarthik should come in to replace Sehwag or perhaps even Irfan....now hear me out, I think Irfan's bowling is pathetic, I dont' understand how you can lose 20-30 Kmph of your speed when you are like 22 I just don't get it. But he could come in as a BATSMAN....b/c he is a clean striker of teh balll...and if he does stike with the ball then all the better... 3. We need to show more commitment. We need some fire, someone has to step up and say -- I'm going to win this match. We need to dive in the field and hold our catches! 4. Our tail needs to wag. That was inexcusable the way 3 successive players got out for ducks. Unbelievable, especially that shot by Bhajji, what was that??? 5. I don't know if Bhajji is the man for the job...he just hasn't been taking wickets reccently, perhaps it is only fair to try Kumble, why else did we take him on board?
Mandrake Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? cricjar...you need to learn to understand that something does not become 'nonsense' just because you have a different opinion....the players deserve every bit of flack for the spineless display today.....they need to earn our respect by getting thru to the super 8's..nothing less is gonna suffice
cricajar Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Re: Can India actually qualify for Super 8' now? Mandrake -- you need to learn how to read? I'm just curious if you even read what I wrote, because if you did you'll notice that I too believe in laying the hammer down on the players. If I was coach these guys would be running suicides till the sun rose. But sometimes those days just happen when nothing is going right. My argument is that you so called fans, liek yourself mandrake...so easily sit back on your couches and complain about the players. Yes they sucked, and its devastating...but we have to learn to support our team. Lets be the 12th man...look at the Irish, their fans added a whole new dimension to teh Green team. WE need to do that for our team. And save me teh bullshit that they need to "earn our respect", give me a break...they had a bad game. Shit happens. Now pick yourself up and fight, fight harder. Thats what champions do, they don't let little road blocks completely deflate them. So please, I'm asking all of you guys out there to support your team, thats what fans are suppose to do...lets go India! Purge that venomous negativity b/c it will do nothing absolutely nothing to help our chances.
