bharat297 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Why do Australia always bat first in the first test of every major test series? * Aus vs SAF 2008 * Aus vs NZL 2008 (lost the toss, but got sent in) * BG 2008 * Frank Worrell 2008 * BG 2007/08 * Series vs Lanka in 2007 * Ashes 2006/07 * Test Series vs SAF in 2005/06 in Aust. * Super Test (I know it wasnt a series but it was a major Test match) * Ashes 2005 * BG 2004 * Aus vs Sri Lanka 2004 * BG 2003/04 (they lost the toss, but got sent in) * Ashes 2002/03 And there are probably many more that I cant remember ... This is freaky!!!

Look at Pontings record as captain in a) Winning the toss during the 1st test of the series b) Batting first during the first test of the series Btw ... I have no idea what it is and cbb finding out but Im pretty sure its ridiculously high compared to other captains.
